Paris Marathon: Mile 23
March 30, 2010
You might get a sense of deja vu at this point, but you’ve not been here before. Unfortunately, Parisian parks have a distinctly similar look when you’re running along roads. On the positive side, looking to either side of you as you run, you should get a feeling of speed – even if you don’t feel like you’re running that fast.
It’s a smooth, straight road, and crowding on the course should have been much reduced. Focus on running strong. In fact, try focusing on the gap between you and the runner immediately in front of you. Try to reduce that gap. If you overtake the runner, focus on the next one. Overtaking will give you a mental boost and help you feel stronger – but don’t overdo it!
