Location location location

November 2, 2010

Life has been busy of late, resulting in sparse blogging. So, for those not in the know, here’s the story so far: I’m moving to London. Same job, different location. There’s been a lot to sort out – including getting my flat available to let – but by the end of this month I’m going to be ensconced in my new abode.

So, here’s the thing: I need to sort out my running agenda for when I’m up in London. I’m looking for a running group to join. Ideally with a mix of paces, relatively young (thinking 30s here) and with good socialising opportunities.

I’ll be working in High Holborn and living in South Tottenham. I’ve noticed that the Virgin London Marathon shop in Covent Garden coordinates runs on a Thursday evening (6:30pm meeting at the shop), which sounds like a promising start. However, I need to get a more regular running group if I’m going to make a respectable time at the Virgin London Marathon in April.

Any suggestions for running groups in central London or up in Tottenham? Please leave a comment with any recommendations! Looking forward to getting to know the new stomping grounds…

Hi there! I have also just relocated to London for a job in the middle of training for the Bath Half. It’s tricky training in a new town, but you’re right – running is a great way to get to know a new area. If you’re looking for clubs nearby check out the Mornington Chasers (not too far from you). I went along last week for the first time and they seem like a really great bunch.

Anyway, great blog – good luck with your 2011 races!
