Stannah (or #janathon day 7)

January 7, 2013

I’ve been suffering with a bit of tendinitis in my left Achilles, so since it felt stiff today I gave it a rest.
With the weeks counting down to the London Marathon, this is something I’m going to keep an eye on. A period of cross training may be in order come May…
So today’s exercise was effectively an out-and-back route, walking the mile from Euston, up eight flights of stairs to my desk. This was then repeated in reverse at the end of the day. Not exactly exciting.
If I hunch over my laptop and look up, I can see The Shard from my desk. Having spent yesterday’s run climbing hills, I wondered how that compared with the height of the tallest building in the UK. Turns out, I effectively crested The Shard (or indeed the Eiffel Tower, which is about the same height) with 50m to spare.
I fear this is the start of judging hilly runs against tall buildings…
